Abstract
Einleitung: Porphyrine sind lebenswichtige Farbstoffe, die die Grundstruktur des Häm und des Chlorophyll bilden. Die Synthese des Häm erfolgt, ausgehend von Succinyl-Coenzym A und Glycin, über acht enzymatische Schritte. Porphyrien sind Stoffwechselerkrankungen, die auf einer verringerten Aktivität eines dieser Enzyme beruhen (Tab.1). Das klinische Bild der jeweiligen Porphyrieerkrankung hängt davon ab, welche Porphyrinvorstufen bzw. -metaboliten sich in dem entsprechenden Gewebe anreichern. Für die Dermatologen bedeutende Porphyrien sind die erythropoetische Protoporphyrie (EPP), die congenitale erythropoetische Porphyrie (CEP), die Porphyria variegata (PV), die hereditäre Coproporphyrie (HC) und vor allem die Porphyria cutanea tarda (PCT).
